1918 / WW I era BC-14A Crystal Set ... DeForest Radio Tel & Tel .. VG Condition:
Circa 1918 ... BC-14A Crystal Set ... mfg by DeForest Radio Tel & Tel .. nice, clean brass tag on the lid. Very clean ... totally original set. The exterior of the wood box shows a fair bit of wear but retains the original OD green paint .. actually in remarkable condition considering it's over 100 years old! The box is solid and has all the original hardwear. Nice clean instruction paper pasted on the inside of the lid. The panel of the set is in perfect condition ... nice clean brass binding posts, dial scales and switch contacts. The detector has a crystal installed. Retains the original Century buzzer and the battery holder and wiring for the buzzer is intact. Interior of the chassis is very clean and both the condensers work smoothly .. as well as the variable inductance coil. Altogether a very nice, very original BC-14A in great condition. Nice ones are getting hard to find and it's always a plus to have the DeForest version .. just for the prestigious name! The set measures approx 13" X 9" X 9" deep and very well packed shipping weight will be 17 pounds from zip code 24012.
