220 MHz (1.25 meters) Base Amateur Radio Antenna Copper J-Pole :

Please read before ordering....

Please make sure you are ordering the correct antenna for your needs, as this isonly for the 1.25 meter band...it will not work on any other band. If you are new to amateur radio and not sure PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE ORDERING TO MAKE SURE THIS IS THE ANTENNA YOU NEED. It does not work on a \"dual band\" HT as those are 2 meters and 70cm.
It can be mounted either permanently or temporarily. To assemble the antenna, simply screw the 2 pieces together. It can be hand tightened for short term use, but I suggest using a wrench to tighten for longer term uses. If you hand tighten, the two parts will only screw in about half way. Use a squirt of WD40 if needed to tighten. If you plan on mounting it permanently outside, it can also be soldered (rosin core) together.Like my other J-Poles, available on , for 2 meters, MURS, etc. this is made from 1/2 copper pipe. It is tuned to the lowest SWR at the middle of the 1.25 meter band and is 1.5 or below the entire band.
The coax connector is a standard SO 239 that is pop riveted and soldered (see photo). If you want to use it with an HT that has either an SMA or BNC connector, you can use the appropriate adapter on the HT so that a standard PL 259 can be connected to the HT. These are available at most hamfests and online.
For use as a base antenna, the \"stub\" easily attaches to a mast, or can be inserted in the open end of a mast, as shown in the photo where it is inserted in the open end of my tripod. Also, if you have antenna restrictions, or are limited to an indoor antenna, look at the photos of the \"floor mount\" that can easily and inexpensively be made from PVC pipe and other items easily found at a hardware store. Instructions are in the closeup photo, but I will send them separately if needed...AND I have the \"floor mount\" also available in my listing if you don\'t want to make it yourself.Overall length is 45 inches so it will fit in most attics.
Included with each antenna is an official ARRL \"Band and Worked All States\" chart. I also include labels with your call sign that you can use on the antenna or radios, etc. Please include your call sign when your order or in a separate message...otherwise I will look it up in QRZ. Both are \"with my compliments.\" If you don\'t have a license yet, I recommend hamstudy.org for study guides.
This and all my items have an unlimited warranty....so if you have a question or problem, please contact me so we can get it corrected.
Please click on \"ask a question\" if you need more information, and also on the link below to see my other items, which include not only antennas for other VHF bands, but from my other \"hobby\" of woodworking...particularly my personalized handcrafted oak callsigns which are the perfect addition to your shack.Check me out on QRZ.
