ECC RAM (Error checking and correcting): The ability to correct errors while continuing to perform your regular functions. I don\'t know if you ever had RAM fail on you, but it\'s not pretty. These ECC Ram shouldn\'t fail for a very long time. Some motherboards are able to operate ECCRAM very well. I personally feel that there\'s a 15% increase you could easily achieve; when overclocking, if you wanted to, (1600Mhz pushed up to 1866Mhz). The ECC should help a lot with many RAM errors, but if you tried to OC them too much, then well... even ECC ram has their limits. 32GB at 1600 Mhz is at, or near top of their class even without the overclocking.
I think they have an aluminum heat spreaders on them, (I\'m not sure of the material- see pictures). These covers help transfer heat, so they run cool(er). At 8GB or 32GB, it would be very hard to overheat them anyway. I run 2 sticks of this sameitemin my downstairs gaming computer, and after a year, they seem to do very nicely.
Idea!: Maybe you only want 16GB. You buy 32GB, then sell 16GB to a friend (I won\'t know/tell, if you just happened, to make a profit ;) <<<Suppose to be a winkand smiley face ).
ASUS\'s Crosshair V formula Z can operate 4 sticks of this ram, and canmanageup to 2400Mhz, but I\'d keep it at 1600Mhz up to 1866Mhz. It seems like this would work perfectly for somebody building with this MB.
This is a RMA item that was sent brand new from the manufacture, (after about a 2 month delay). I received it in June 2014, shortlyafter; my family member decided against a new pc build.
Never used, never installed! Look closely at picture #6, there are no deep scraps on these RAM. When installed they will be scrapped by the Ram slot, and that\'s how you can tell if they are used. See photo #7 for example of used \"deep scratched\" RAM (not included in this listing).Minor scratching could be caused by manufacture QA testing.
