Love the size of the screen, fast processing and huge harddrive. But the processor isn't an intel, its a PowerPC which is not compatible with some programs (with my own experience such as Adobe programs including AE CS4). No problem, all the Adobes can be found in different versions (either CS3 or CS4), but its a bit pesky trying to find the right programs that will work for it. If your going to buy a G5 Mac the PowerPC isn't a bad computer, but if your gonna go all out and buy a supercomputer, get the Intel based processor. Completely satisfied with my purchase though.
This is a good desktop all the apple buffs will say its useless but i run the heck out of this desktop several app at a time watch movies convert videos watch flash and hulu with an easily found modified flashplayer its become my wife and daughters tv during the day dont let the age or mhz or ram fool you powerpc cpus are much faster than their x86 counterparts from that era and mac os gets the most out of your ram if u need a good home use desktop or are trying to get into apple you cant beat a g5 for the price
The PPC iMac G5 iSight with Leopard installed is not as easy to use as previous iMac's. I tried to boot up from an older DVD and it refused to Boot. Spent hours at Apple Discussions to find out WHY. No answer. I have no idea how to install an older Tiger system on it.
I love my IMac, if i ever get to use it, My dauther is on it all the time, thinking about buying another and giving her the IMac G5:-)
Does not operate normally but my be recoverable, in any case it is just like my, bought new one and is parts compatible so it is a treasure for me. By the way it is one of the last good mac models till Iphoniacs were born. Booyah!
