I never owned a pair of these headphones until now; and well now, My whole perspective of headphones have been changed. From the time my brother let me borrow his for a few seconds was enough to convince me to buy these headphones. Now let me tell you what i like about these headphones. They are super comfortable, superb sound quality, Stylish design, Really long chord, oh and they are comfortable. Yea i know these headphones wont cancel all the noise in the world but when music is playing, only music is playing. Plus i find that some headphones start to hurt your ears because of the noise canceling. These dont. When your drumming, Djing or just chillaxing with some good music you can never go wrong. BUT! The only reason I didnt like these headphones was because im always super careful with them. Many reports have shown that there are fake ones and real ones on the net. I have the real ones which look and feel more sturdy but the swivels seem like they are going to snap. Plus theres over 10 feet of coil chord, which has its advantages, but mostly just gets annoying. Im a drummer and have been for about 5 years so when im in the studio i need a solid headset that wont break and will fit snug with giving great sound. The Sony MDR-V700DJ are the best ones i use for below 100 Budget.Read full review
I ordered the headset and got it in about 2.5 weeks, packaging original and everything is alright as far as i remember the last pair of headphones of this model that i've bought. However, and i really don;t know if that's because I already got used to work with the pioneer ones, the sound seems to be poor. It may have been the same than the last ones i had but i rather having the pioneer ones, sound is waaay more clear and disregarding how much you crank the volume the sound will never distort, I'm having these ones just for this month and I'll be ordering my pioneer;s again!!! Once again i state... product is very good for the price.
First, I really thought they are fully original. Actually, I still don't know if they really are or not. All the things I can say about them are that more than half of the clues that I read in a "fake or not review" seem to show an original product. They look very good, the jack and adaptor seem to be original (black smooth finish), the cord too, the automatic position recovering mechanism of the swivel is ok, and they sound wonderful. The carrying pouch is cream white, soft, and has a silky black label with "Sony" logo on a corner. But, according to the box dimensions they could seem to be not original. I wanted to sell them, but the guy who has won the auction told me that "these are not the ones I expected to see". Finally I kept them, I use them for occasional DJ geeks and for listening at home every day and I really like them. My opinion: if you buy them for personal use, they are perfect and you will be really satisfied with their quality and they really are a perfect deal for this price. But, if you want to resell them, a pretentious and experienced buyer might not buy them. Personally, I will keep them for a long time use and I'm happy with this deal. That's all :)Read full review
First of all if you're looking for a Sony MDR-V700DJ you need to make sure you get the real product. Most of what I've seen coming China are probably cheap knock offs. So before you pay $50 to $100 make sure you ask the seller these questions (original post can be found here: http://reviews.ebay.co.uk/How-To-Spot-Fake-SONY-MDR-V700DJ-Headphones_W0QQugidZ10000000004436156): The genuine V700s feel bulletproof and have a very wide dynamic range and excellent stereo imaging properties. Guess what? The fakes don't. They look almost identical, but are not built to the same standards and sound inferior. The genuine V700 retail box is approx 215 X 115 X 155mm, approx 25mm BIGGER all round than the fake box, and has a stick-on bar code label, not a printed one. The genuine V700 box is marked 'Made in Phillipines', the fake box 'Made in China'. (SONY has a manufacturing base in the Phillipines). The genuine V700s are marked 'Phillipines' and 'CE' (European specification) left and right inside the headband, above the ear cups. The fakes are blank. The genuine V700s came with a cream/white-coloured vinyl carrying pouch. The fakes came with a black pouch. The genuine V700s have thick padding covering the drivers and are very comfortable. The fakes do not, and hurt your ears. The genuine V700s have a grey(ish) matt finish to the jack lead and it easily stretches to 3m or more. The fake lead is black and shiny, is much shorter and does not stretch so readily. The genuine V700s were supplied with a gold 'screw-on' type 3.5-6.3mm adaptor. The fakes came with a 'push-on' type. The genuine V700s have, on the 3.5mm jack plug, blue/greenish insulation material between the contacts. The fakes are black. The aforementioned checklist meets all my purchase qualities. I can vouch for these requirements. As for my review. Many will say the Sony MDR-V700DJ's hinges and pivot points will break but I've used mine for 2 months and all is well. They do feel tough and twist with quality. They are very very comfortable. The sound is wonderful considering the price range. The cord is very very long. So if you're don't want a headphone with a long cord this product might not suit you. Otherwise, there's a lot of room to move about with these headphones. I primarily wanted to buy a fully enclosing headphone for when I fly. These puppies do block out a good deal of ambient noise. Plus, when put them away they fold up for easy storage.Read full review
I bought this product because I needed a good head phone for Djying; and the various reviews on the Internet. What I liked most about the product is the Sound Qulity. Extremely refined. The design is good - it folds well. A bit bulkiy on the head/ear, but thats the way headhpnes are unfortunately. There are similar products; but without the name 'Sony' brand. Sony is well respected in Portable Audio Sound. Prices for this product varies significantly. So, shop around.
