Works great in my upgraded 12-core Mac Pro 5,1 combined with a Lycom DT-120 PCIe adaptor. Really excellent read-write speeds and super easy to set up as the main drive after cloning my old SSD with Carbon Copy Cloner. Just make sure to put it in slot 3 or 4 for maximum speeds.

This worked out great for my late 2009 Mac Pro but it did take some time to have it set up correctly to see its max speed. I had initially put this on the second 16x lane PCI-e slot but was only getting around 250mb/s write and 700mb/s read speeds. I followed the advice on one of the other reviews here and put in on the 3rd 4x lane PCI-e slot and my read speeds doubled to around 1400mb/s, which is what I was expecting. The write speeds were still terrible, at 200mb/s but I was able to sort this out by enabling TRIM on my system. Enabling TRIM got my write speeds up to the expected 1400mb/s. Hope this helps!

Have four of them sitting in an amfeltec squid rev 2.0 in a classic Mac Pro, using soft-RAID. I'm getting about 6GB/s of both read and write performance, which was more than I was expecting.

In my MacPro2012 PCIe SM951 gain Write 1500MB/s and Read 1800MB/s Over! I’ve never seen such speed before. and OSX Boot takes Only 20sec. M.2 M-key AHCI type are going to be rarely. I think they are still keep top speed for bootable OSX not only data storages. I’m very happy to get it.

Arrived quickly. Dropped this on a dt120 and Into my Mac pro 5,1. Recognized right away, formatted and installed OS and was able to boot from it immediately. No SSD on the PCIE bus, but I do have one in one of the SATA slot. BM shows SM 951 consistently over 700 R/W where SSD was 250. A bit expensive, but it keeps my MP going for some time! Very happy with drive.
