I purchased a refurbished unit of the T240HD as part of a new computer Christmas present for my dad and he is very happy with the improvement from his six and a half year old 15" Dell Ultrasharp LCD. The quality of the screen is good but not enough to win any awards. I tried it out temporarily as a TV, connected via HDMI to a Dish HD DVR, and it worked very well but the viewing angles leave something to be desired. The speakers are not as good as speakers typically integrated into TVs but are better than most laptop speakers. The Touch of Color detracts from the looks of the monitor, in my opinion, but the red light can easily be turned off in the menus. The remote is just a typical remote and I had no problems with it. One negative is that the monitor shows fingerprints around the bezel pretty easily. When I first hooked up the monitor, there was a stuck pixel in the middle of the screen. When I hooked it up for my dad it was no longer stuck.Read full review
Bought this TV for my travel trailer, using the winegard sensar antenna on my camper gives me a picture so clear its unreal. It was very simple to set up and use. The sound is not very good but thats what you get out of small speakers. I plugged in a pair of JBL computer speakers to the side headphone jack and now have great sound and a picture that will knock your socks off. I am very happy that I bought this TV...it also comes with all the cables to use as a computer moniter but I have not tried it for that.
Highest acclaim... I bought this product to replace my old PC's antiquated 19" CRT (which had burnt out during a power outtage in a December snow storm). It is my first LCD widescreen format display. It has a smaller footprint than the original CRT and I have reclaimed a lot of useful desk space. I was stunned by the visual quality of the Samsung image. The colors are so vibrant - my eyes don't tire quickly anymore. Plus, the added screen real estate let's me see more content at one viewing - I love it for detailed spreadsheet displays. The remote control is fantastic - it is intuitive and self-guiding - even obscure features are explained plainly. And, navigation through the menu system is a breeze - it offers guidance on screen for each option. Even though I didn't buy it for the TV features, it turns out that I use it often in that mode. I simply plugged in a DTV antenna. It handles over-the-air signals - digital (of course) and local low power analog as well. The remote control facilitates setup and day to day use.Read full review
I needed this because I have DVD players, TV, Surveillance, Dual monitors, camcorders and it can handle just about anything with it's large selection of inputs. Only negative thing is with all these inputs there is no PIP. Picture looks great and HDMI looks just as good. Remote is a nice feature also. 24" is about as large as is needed I would say.
Did I lot of research into this monitor before deciding to buy it. I didn't use this monitor to watch TV and I don't plan on using this as a computer monitor for extended periods of time at least since the size of this surprised me (first TV/monitor I bought). I'm not experienced with purchasing TV's but this one is great to me and I'm very happy with my purchase. The amplitude difference in sound when trying to increase the volume isn't great but it's more than enough for me and it shouldn't warrant getting speakers for the TV unless you really need people in other rooms hearing you play. I did get the Logitech LS21 2.1 speakers though which works really well even though it isn't needed (I bought it because of other reviews saying how the speakers for the TV are bad and I realize now I didn't need to however I do like the logitech speakers so I'll keep them). The display on this looks great and I didn't notice any viewing angle problems other people in reviews were complaining about. I play games on this TV at an angle which the TV is to the right of my monitor I use the computer with and I'm in front of the monitor a few feet away (because the TV is big :0 ); I notice no difference that would hinder my gameplay. Speaking of gaming this TV got connections out the ass; Buy a component cable for the Wii, and get enough HDMI cables and you can have your PC, Wii, 360, and PS3 all connected at the same time...I need to buy a bigger extension cable now. There's more to talk about on this monitor but I didn't delve too much in the options to be able to write about it and this review is kind of long- just buy this damn TV/Monitor and call it a day, you won't be upset. Oh I like the touch activated power button and it even comes with a remote with batteries in it :)Read full review
