Took several plug/cord combos to figure out what it wanted. Test isn’t as good as I’d like. Not primary screen so it’s working.

This is a great monitor. Mine uses the S-IPS panel made by LG (rather than the PVA panel made by Samsung). The image is sharp, the resolution is high, and the colors look good. The monitor has a wide viewing angle and virtually no color shift or brightness shift as you move your head. Prior to buying this monitor, I purchased and returned two new, highly-rated E207WFP and 2009W monitors from Dell. Both used twisted nematic (TN) panels and both had horrible color and brightness shifts. I was not able to get the colors on either monitor correctly adjusted. The reds and greens were far too saturated. Fortunately, Dell took both of them back for full credit. So, given my less-than-satisfactory experiences with two Dell monitors, you're wondering why I'd ever buy another Dell monitor -- and a used one to boot. Simple. I've been using a 2007WFP at work for 30+ hours a week for nearly two years and it's far superior to the newer Dell monitors I tried and returned. That's why I bought a used one on eBay. In the end I paid about the same as for a new monitor, but now I'm happy. BTW, the various computer geek forums emphatically state that the S-IPS panel is superior to the PVA panel. Both of my 2007WFP monitors (work and home) are S-IPS and they are excellent. (I have never seen a PVA panel in action so I can't personally vouch for them not being as good as an S-IPS panel.) As Dell does not publicly distinguish between S-IPS and PVA in the 2007WFP, make sure you ask the seller for the serial number of any monitor you're interested in. S-IPS panels have serial numbers ending with an "L" (for LG). PVA panels have serial numbers ending with an "S" (for Samsung).Read full review
Dell UltraSharp 2007WFP 20.1" S-IPS LCD Monitor Wide If you are a Mac user, this monitor is a good IPS display technology alternative to buying an Apple Cinema Display. These displays calibrate nicely, especially if you are using the System Preferences / Display Calibration Assistant in Mac OS 10.4 Tiger or Mac OS 10.5 Leopard. The Apple & Dell IPS LCD displays don't have external contrast adjusters. With the IPS LCD, there is no contrast adjustment on the display or in the Mac OS. It stays in the right contrast all the time. Only Brightness and RGB levels can be adjusted externally as well as selecting PC Mode and Mac Mode. So with Tiger and Leopard, the contrast is about right so that I can begin the calibration process, starting with adjusting the External Brightness Control on the monitor to get the black levels to match, in System Preferences / Display Calibration Assistant. But in Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard, the default-fixed contrast setting is too bright in the black and shadowed areas, so it's impossible to manually adjust the brightness to get the black levels to match in System Preferences / Display Calibration Assistant. So, all of the monitors' external controls are functioning in Snow Leopard but Snow Leopard's new default brightness is beyond the Dell monitor's external adjustment range, as it is with most older Apple CRT displays and most other non-Apple third-party Mac-friendly LCD displays. So this monitor is great for calibrating with Mac OS 10.4 Tiger or Mac OS 10.5 Leopard but Snow Leopard will render this monitor un-usable. It's almost like Apple is treating all third party-non-Apple displays like "Jail-Broken" iPhones. Read full review
This is the BEST monitor I've ever used! It features a brand new style and design by Dell for the 2007 years and on, the silver stands with black trims. It has a new interface built into the monitor to help you use any function you want. There are several input sources for this monitor: DVI, VGA, S-VIDEO, and COMPOSITE. With these 4 inputs, you can easily hookup any AV device to these monitors and experience them at great resolution. MAX pc resolution (bottlenecked by some older Graphics cards) is 1680x1050! This is an amazing resolution. With widescreen format you can see all your movies without losing half the picture due to normal 4:3 ratio. I recently hooked up my PlayStation 3 to this monitor and it's amazing! I used a HDMI to DVI cable I found on ebay to do this. Now I can play PS3 and go on my computer with a push of a button (change input source from DVI to VGA) This monitor also has Picture-In-Picture and Picture-By-Picture, which lets you display two input sources at the same time! DVI and S-VIDEO DVI and COMPOSITE VGA and S-VIDEO VGA and COMPOSITE There are several features with this monitor, including the two USB ports on the right side of the monitor and two USB ports in the back! It's amazing, and I'm glad I purcahsed this. The only downsides are that I found a dead pixel in the top right screen and it's annoying when I watch dark movies because it's bright Green! Turning the monitor 90degrees isn't the best feature, as all the cables are forced to stretch. Dust collector. Dust lover! Some light flooding at the rims of the monitor, but nothing too noticeable.Read full review
