Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Network Attached Storage
Instructions are a bit lacking but you have to follow the mfr site instructions in the help section for that model. Basically it goes like this... 1. With the power switched off (in the back) and plugged into ethernet web connection, insert new unformatted drive (up to 4GB) into slot 1 (it will be wiped and formatted to XFS). 2. Turn on power in back and wait till the white light goes steady, Then BRIEFLY press the button on the front and release. WAIT for about 20 minutes while the system initializes the drive and formats it. The red light will go out and the white will go steady. Keyword here is WAIT. 3. If adding a second drive, power down the unit and wait till the blinking stops. Then insert the 2nd drive. Power back up and the red light will be on. 4 Log into web interface with admin/123456 and change password. then go into the Advanced section and Drives. There you can Format the second drive. Other than creating root folders and permissions/services, you are done. Super nice system after that. I have two of these fully loaded and they just work. PUT IT BEHIND A HARDWARE FIREWALL APPLIANCE AND BE SURE TO USE A UPS TO SUPPORT IT OR YOU WILL BE CRYING AT THE NEXT BROWNOUT AND MAKING BAD REVIEWS ABOUT IT. A UPS power source is needed for any serious SAN application.Read full review
