With an original price of almost $300 and currently avaialble on eBay for a small fraction of that the Nikon Nuvis S is a great buy for people who want a rugged, pocketable camera with great capabilities, but easy operation. I have several pro-Series Nikon SLRs, but the camera that goes in my pocket for spur of the moment pictures is a Nuvis S. With a sharp zoom lens, good internal flash and protective Titanium clamshell case this is a dream of a camera. Nikon lens, Nikon automation, good quality. While many are going to digital, few digital cameras can give you the quality of a film camera, especially if you set this Advanced Photo System camera on Panorama mode and get a wide screen, HD photo of landscapes or group shots. Since film is no longer manufactured for this camera (APS) use it while you can. For such a small camera the image is remarkably good. I attribute that to the Nikon glass. It has a decent zoom range and an adequate flash. If you can find some good cold stores film you’ll get great results. It has the traditional 3 picture formats of all APS cameras. Horizontal, Cropped & Panorama.

Need to shoot up lots of remaining aps film & wanted a Nikon. Heavy for an aps point & shoot, but it is stainless steel. Nikon glass with one aspherical element and a wide angle zoom. Who could ask for more?

I had recently purchased a large lot of 35mm film, which included 25 rolls of aps film..so I purchased the camera to use up the film. The price of the camera was right,as was shipping cost.....I have taken 2 rolls of film so far, but have not had it processed yet..so I cannot evaluate the operation of the camera yet.....I am pleased with the very wide panoramic view provided........mlm
