This is an awesome camera. I researched cameras and decided this was a great value for all of the features it offers. This product is a great starter/transitional camera for aspiring photographers. It pretty much will walk you through whatever kind of pictures you are going to take. Love the onscreen display. This is a great item for the beginner who is not camera savvy as well as the experienced who knows how to use all of its great features. I take pictures daily. I have different cameras for different picture needs. Nikon, by far has proven to me to be the best brand out there for all of my photographic needs. I have friends who have used some of the other brands, and paid the same price, and sometimes more...my Nikon takes the better pics. They are actually envious, :) and I still haven't read the booklet--this camera is that user friendly.Read full review
I made the choice to get the D3000 system as all the features and functionality I needed existed with this platform ... the D3100 and D3200 and 5000 series had more kewl stuff, but I didn't need any of it ... the camera has exceeded my expectations and it is replacing a Nikon that I used for many years ... I have been delighted with the digital format of my second digital Nikon after being quite skeptical, because I am an old Nikon 35mm film format purist ...
This is my first camera like this up until now I have used a point and shoot camera. I have not figured it all out yet, am learning as I go. My granddaughter is taking a photogrphy class and liked the camera so much I gave it to her and got myself another one.The camera has been really good as a first camer for her class and I love that this camera doesn't have shutter lag like my point and shoot did. It is a little heaver and bulkier I think it is worth it to have better photos. I plan to read lanter guide for Nikon D3000 I have been told that it is very good. So far the book has really helped.
I don't think you can beat the value of this camera for the price I paid for itthis is my first SLR camera so the picture quality I gave four stars because I have nothing to compare it with as far as other SLR cameras. overall I don't think you can find a better deal at that price I am very happy with the camera and have to get used to using it now
The company from which I purchased this camera from represented it as "refurbished". Ha! I think a brand new camera fell into the Nikon silver box. What do I like? Everything. It came with a new manual, a new camera (Nikon) strap, battery (Nikon),re charger, lens hood, lens covers, lens bag for the extra lens. I have no dislikes. I wanted a Nikon, I have Nikon film cameras and now that we a digital Nikon is the way to go. No more Kodachrome, sigh.
