I had an old 15" CRT monitor and I decided to look for a bigger, better monitor, for a number of reasons. First was price, then the actual screen size. I wanted something bigger to take advantage of games and internet web pages. Over the past few months LCD monitor prices have just been dropping. That made it worth while for me to start looking for a new monitor. When I started compairing all the specs. and price of the Samsung to other monitors I quickly saw that every one is just about the same. The thing that sold me on Samsung came down to one thing...Plug And Play. When the monitor arrived I simply unpluged my old monitor and pluged in the new one..It uas just that simple..When I turned on my computer it saw the new device, and adjusted itself..The Samsung came with good set up instructions, as well as new driver files on CD. I used the controls on the monitor to adjust it, then I loaded the new files on my computer and found that a good monitor got even better. Every thing from size and positioning to color and brightness are fully adjustable. As for physical size, the monitor frame is about the same size as my old one, but it's flat. There is nothing sticking out to bump into the wall at the back of my computer stand, and it's very lite. I've found that I get quicker web page loads now, and there is no "line" at the bottom of the page any more. Over all the Samsung was a very good buy for me, and I'd gladly do it again.Read full review
Originaly I purchased a Samsung SyncMaster 931B 19 inch monitor for my office computer. I like the 3x4 geometry much better than the 9x6 (wide), since most of the computer use we have nowadays is vertical scrolling, the wide requires much more scroll than the 3x4. Then I found out I want to have a second monitor attached to this computer, since lots of use requires consulting other files, etc. The obvious solution was to purchase another 931B LCD display, but it is not manufactured anylonger. So eBay was the solution. I was very lucky to find this one, the owner had it in the original box, foam, manuals, cables, even the CD. According to the owner it had little use. I received it fast and it is working nicely here as my second monitor. Now I have a dual display PC, with a huge desktop, of 2560x1024 pixels, it is equal to a 32 inches monitor, super wide, as 30" x 12". I really can't understand how I could survive until today without dual monitors... :) This Samsung monitor (as usual for Samsung products) is very good. The one I've being using for more than 3 years, all day, still with perfect brightness, no dead dots, fast and good contrast. I basicaly use for office jobs, including graphics and photos.Read full review
I have owned this monitor for many years. I actually just purchased another one on ebay so I can have dual matching monitors as I find that the convenience warranted one now. One feature that I find unique is that you are able to turn your monitor into portrait mode if you so choose. I hear web coders prefer this for coding web pages by hand. Great monitor, I love it, or I wouldn't have bought a second one.
I bought this monitor to complement the identical one I already had, purchased new several years ago, to create a dual monitor setup. I considered buying new monitors but the pricing didn't make sense. I liked how the Samsung performed over the years and knew that getting one the same size and using the same drivers would make sense. The color in the second one is more washed out though I've tried to adjust it to match the first. The blues are too green. For that I paid too much. I like that this monitor offers both digital and VGA, though I've only used in analog mode.
When I bought this Monitor I was in need of a new one that would give me more room on my desk. I did a lot of checking and reading up on a lot of monitors, and the Samsung was rated at or close to the top. The one I bought is a 19" LCD It has a verry good picture, and the best color of all the ones I checked on. I will up grade my other computer next year and I am sure I will get the same type monitor for it also. If anyone is looking for a new monitor they need to check into the Samsung line, I think they are the top of the line.
