The good: Affordable; built-in speakers and headphone jack; easy-to-navigate onscreen menu; dedicated volume buttons, crisp beautiful picture. The bad: Analog only; few ergonomic adjustments (mainly because of hp's crappy stand); short, one-year limited warranty; no cable-management system (once again because of the stand). The bottom line: The HP vs17 is one of many average-performing, general use LCD monitors; however, its low price and built-in speakers make it worth considering. Also to combat (The Bad) section up top, I recomend getting a dual monitor setup with these monitors, theyre absolutly amazing in a multi monitor setup, and if you buy the : Chief FTP-220B Dual Flat Monitor Stand - you wont be sorry, It has multiple adjustments and is very very heavy, it also has a cable management system in the back.Read full review
This is a pretty great little flat-panel monitor. It has built-in speakers, a headphone jack, all the normal adjustment settings. The screen is very clear, and even when others touch the screen when pointing out something to me (EEK!), the screen does not give-way to the touch very much, and it does not seem to hold debris (you know, when cleaning other smooth surfaces, you feel "bumps" of debris, that you have to try and get off). But really, the bottom line with the monitor we have is that we could set it up, adjust the stand (it is creaky by the way), hit the auto adjustment button and be set to go and not have to mess with the controls again!
Works just fine for me.....small and compact. The sound from the speakers are awesome.

This Hewlett-Packard LCD monitor is a very good value. It has built in speakers which is convenient. It tilts easily and is attractive to the eye. The color and clarity of the screen are as good if not better than my Dell LCD flat panel which cost a lot more money. If you can get a hold of one these for around $100 you're getting a good deal. Some used ones may be less than that.
The HP vs17 series is a great monitor if you don't care about all those fancy things like HD this, hdmi that. It's a simple lcd monitor; with a great display; and easy to use interface/setup. I own two of these monitors, they work great.
