The Lomo Fisheye 2 Gold is the most fun I ever had with a camera. People just smile when they see it. (Some even ask if it 's a real camera.) Keeping in mind that this is a totally not automatic FILM camera and that it is part of the Lomography "lo-fi" (low fidelity) way of doing things, it is great. If you want fast and easy and perfectly calculated exposure and ultra-sharp images, this is not for you. This is for those who want artistic experiments and happy accidents. And ROUND photos - this is the best.

But it's difficult to use. Many of my pictures are out of focus and kind of blurry. Also, I accidentally took double exposure with it. Anyway, it's a beautiful camera and I had lots of fun shooting with it. Hope I can master it in the future.

This is a fun little camera that takes great pictures, but a little pricey for what I actually got. It's built of cheap plastic and feels like a disposable camera. The poorly-designed winding mechanism often loses tension on the film, so the teeth lose their grip and I can't advance the film. I can use both knobs to massage the film back into place, but this will usually result in off-center negatives and/or double exposures. The flash is only effective within about 4 feet of the subject, and the lens blocks part of it. The lens is also rather slow (about an f8), so I use 400- or 800-speed film at all times. I got the best fisheye effect within one foot from the subject. When I get too far away, it just looks like a normal photo. All things considered, the Lomography Fisheye is a decent, inexpensive alternative to an SLR camera with a fisheye lens, which would cost hundreds to thousands of dollars.Read full review
I currently own the original lomo fisheye as well as the fisheye2 which adds the ability for one to easily capture double exposures. I used my first fisheye for everything and took it with me wherever I went. It still works but my flash died one day so I can now only use it for non-flash shots. It's light, compact, easy to use and FUN! My only complaint would be that when getting super close ups if you do use the flash you will always get a black shadow on the opposite side of the subject you are shooting so some pics don't look so great with the shadows. However, if you allow about 12 in or more between you and your subject the flash does a pretty decent job. The fisheye is one of my favorite LOMO cameras and I now have 5 different ones! It's addicting!
I love playing with "toy cameras". I am a professional photographer, and I love my very expensive camera, it takes wonderful photographs. The "toy" cameras offer you the opportunity to let go of the control and let the creative chances (or mistakes) take over! The viewfinder is not accurate and you’re never totally sure that you’re going to get what you were shooting for. So if you’re looking for a camera that does what you want and does it perfectly, this is not the camera for you. But I highly recommend this camera to anyone wanting to play around and experiment, you’ll never get the same thing twice! A great buy!
