Here was the configuration that I bought: Lenovo ThinkCentre M58p - 7483BRU - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3 GHz , 6 MB L2 cache - 6.0GB RAM DDR3 SDRAM, non-ECC, 1066 MHz, PC3-8500 - 250GB Hard Drive - SATA - DVD-Writer - Graphics Controller: Intel GMA-4500 Dynamic Video Memory Technology 5.0 - Intel 82567LM Network adapter, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet - Intel Q45 Express Motherboard - 8 x Hi-Speed USB - Windows 7 CoA - Windows 7 64 Bit - Newly Installed !! USES ALL 6GB of RAM! - Open Office v4.0 (similar to Microsoft Office) Software - Create Microsoft Document and Spreadsheets - Microsoft Security Essentials - FULL PROTECTION FOR ALL INTERNET ACTIVITY. The unit that I received was packed well. I really like the dual core Intel e8400 at 3GHz processor. For a middle of the road user like me, it has great price/performance. The 6GB of DDR3 DRAM it came with is more than enough (DDR3 preferred over DDR2 for speed). The case is very easy to open and to service - everything is removable and replaceable without a screwdriver! The unit I received had a WD blue HDD inside which explained why the initial performance was lackluster. My personal advice is to stay away from WD Blue drives. They are slow and unreliable. I used Acronis to image the drive onto a 1TB WD velociraptor (a great fast drive from WD) that I had. What a difference in performance! - the Lenovo seemed faster than some of the quad core machines we have. I now have a smoking fast machine and it has been working great for weeks now with no issues. Bottom line: great machine - get a fast HDD or SSD for it immediately if you see a WD blue drive inside. My daughter works for a major computer distributor and says that Lenovo has the lowest number of failures and the best customer support. Again for price/performance, you can't beat the M58p configured like this.Read full review
We use desktop Linux at home whenever possible; we might as well have antlers, so odd are we. That means we are at the mercy of slightly different trends in computing, and one of them caught us off-guard last week. Google no longer offers a 32-bit version of it Chrome browser; it's 64-bit or walk. Yes, there is the Chromium variant, but of the name-brand PC browsers (including Firefox) only Chrome contains the magic ingredients necessary to watch Netflix in a browser window under Linux. Believe it or not, this tail wagged the dog, and set us off on a hunt for an inexpensive 64-bit machine. This unit is small, whisper-silent (even the optical drive is quieter than most) and came whistle-clean. Getting something that needs no eventual RAM upgrade (because it arrived maxed-out) is a big plus, too. Three hours after unboxing and my daughter was happily gazing at "Lab Rats" on Netflix, and this included swapping out the 320gb hard drive for a 1tb. These guys go on my must-check list when next I am buying.Read full review

I love it! It fits on my desk. It doesn't take any space. End yet, it works perfect! Granted, it is an older model and it can't play play video games with extensive graphics, but it does what most people use computer for: surfing the web, word processor, watching movies and storing my pictures. I also use it to edit my music: I do some music creation, and this computer is capable to handle my needs. Once I finally received it, I replaced hard drive and added more memory. And now I am perfectly happy with this machine. I install Windows 10 on it. Not sure if I like it or not. I think, I would rather use Windows 8.1 then 10. But it has nothing to do with this machine. The computer it self is wonderful - I love it!

Pros: Fast, compact, very quiet, robust and reliable. Lots of USB ports. Takes low wattage from the AC (less heat being developed). Very easy to open (for installing additional hardware) without being flimsy in construction. Drivers available for both Win7 as well as XP. Very wide range of video modes. Has RS232 port as well. Ideal PC as the core for a home theater system (I use it for that purpose running Windows Media Center). Good support on Lenovo website. They are very low priced at the used-PC market. I use 3 of these PCs as a HDTV networked video server/DVR in 3 different rooms in the house. Has gigabit ethernet. Uses all-intel chipset and 3GHz dualcore processor with recent low-power CMOS technology. Cons: No parallel printer port, only one bay for a HDD (I solved that by installing a 2TB drive). Power LED flashes in standby/sleep mode (would have preferred the soft amber glow without flashing like some other manufacturers do) Would definitely recommend this product, very good buy for the price. Keep in mind PC speeds do not really increase any more nowadays, so when you buy this PC with the dual-core 3GHz Intel processor, you are good for years to come.Read full review
I bought this computer for my wife. The only negative, for me, is that it uses laptop memory and has an external power supply. However, it is very small and works very well. I put windows 10 on it and it performs beautifully and is fast for a dual core. It will need more memory to make sure it performs well with Windows 10, 64 bit but that is not a big issue. The hard drive is only 80 gb but my wife does not need one substantially bigger.
