Overall this is a good display, not the best, but for the sub $200 price tag it can't be beat. It has a wider color gamut than sRGB but doesn't cover the whole Adobe RGB color space as advertised. The monitor calibrated quickly and accurately, though images for the web appear a bit hot. If you plan on buying this monitor as a main display for photo editing, be sure to calibrate it carefully and becasue of the wider color gamut make sure you pair it up with a decent video card that supports look up tables such as an ATI FirePro, and make sure PS or Lightroom color management rules are set up properly or you will definately end up with print color mismatch. As a portrait photographer I rely on machine prints from a lab, so sRGB is my color space of choice and when properly set up, this display handles it perfectly. If you are working on really color critical work in the Adobe RGB color space, I would say to save up and get an Eizo, this Dell display will leave you with less than desirable results. As a tft display, color shift isn't noticable until about 30 degrees, not great as far as tft displays go, but, I'm never viewing it at more than about 5 degree, so why pay for more if you don't need it. This display is clear and sharp but due to the anti-glare screen it does look a little less sharp than a clear view type screen with not anti-glare. As ambient light levels changes the anti-glare does help to keep perceived color under control more than a reflective screen, enabling better print matching.Read full review
Never received the monitors yet the charge did hit my card. Calling Dell support to find out why I didn't receive the monitors and get the charge off my card was the worst support experience of my life. Several disconnects and hang-ups while on hold. Finger pointing, they blamed my bank at one point. Poor English. I spent an hour on support, in the end I ended up having to dispute the charges in order to recover my money.
This is one of Dell's finest. Clear, crisp image, sleek design, plenty of connectivity. The wide aspect format makes it easy for programmers to visually inspect a source code diff or merge a code change.
