As stated in the introduction, I am not an "audiophile" and I mostly watch movies. I spent countless hours reading reviews and wavering between brands and cost. I had a budget of $1200 with the thinking that "you get what you pay for". In addition to the online research and endless "this sounds fuller" or "this is cleaner" or "this is clearly the superior speaker", I visited the only two dedicated audio stores in my area. These stores sell the pricier "audiophile" speakers like Klipsch, Paradigm, etc. and you can listen to them before purchasing. It may be my "untrained" ear or my lack of "audio refinement", but I can't tell the difference between these $99 Polk speakers and those costing $400 to $500 more. As a result, I purchased two Polk M60s ii for the front and the CS1 ii as a center channel. These are connected to an older 7.1 Denon 871 AVR and my Energy 8" subwoofer with the cross-over on the AVR set to 80. The system sounds fantastic and the movies are so much more "full" (a subjective term in the realms of audio review, but I feel it fits this scenario.) For $277 with free shipping and no tax for two Polk M60s and one CS1, it is a fantastic upgrade. It's a safe upgrade also. Spend $1000 and force yourself to think you got a great deal on a questionably better speaker, or spend $200 knowing you can't tell the difference and enjoy it. Just my 2 cents.Read full review

These are very well designed speakers. I purchased them at a very good price.New direct from Polk Audio with warranty. Delivery was extremely fast. Box was damaged with FedEx, but nothing was damaged inside. They are moderate size but have a sleek design. Matched with a csia6 center and M70s2 as Front L/R. All timbre matched and I couldn't be happier with the sound. Mids are delivered perfectly with moderate highs, and good amount of bass, but I would add a dedicated sub for a better experience.

I have some old pioneers full towers speakers that I really like but that is a thing of the past with this new speakers. Before this I had the Yamaha NS-6490 as my fronts. With this Polk's speakers everything got wider and a lot more presence. I use them in a 7.2 Sony receiver with bi-amping. A sub-woofer is a must if you really want to feel the base shaking everything (like in any Home Theater setup unless you are spending almost a thousand in speakers) or just have that low and nice blend base with everything else. Tip: Put the frequency and volume on the back of your woofer all the way up, set the speakers to small, put the crossover on your receiver at 80Hz and control the volume of your sub-woofer via the receiver as you like, blend or chest pounding neighbors crying mode. The construction is just nice, pictures don't tell the real quality. They are sleek and I prefer them above any bookshelf stand setup. People forget about the stands in bookshelf's. They are not cheap and when you add and subtract is almost the same. Yeah I know that there are some amazing bookshelf speakers out there but there is something with the floor standing that looks so amazing. This is my setup Sony 7.2 AV, Polk t600, Polk TSi Cs10, monoprice 8 inch subwoofer and Yamaha NS-6490. Playing God of War on the PS4 with Dolby digital, I'm in heaven.Read full review

I'm using these Polk Audio Monitor 60 Series II with a Sherwood RX-4508 200 watt 2 channel receiver. I'm not using a sub woofer and don't feel the need for one. My rig is strictly for listening to music and the colorless, clean, accurate sound is exactly what I'm looking for in my 12 by 14 foot listening room. The power and clarity of the Polk's is incredible. The small footprint works great in the tight confines of my office. The bass is subtle until you push a little extra wattage at them and then you'll be amazed at what 3 five and a quarter inch drivers can do. Highs and midrange audio is beautiful on these. The sound carries so well that at times I think I have speakers in all four corners of the room, The build quality is excellent and they have a nice solid sound when you rap them with your knuckles. I bought these directly from Polk's Ebay store for $88.00 for each speaker. These are easily worth double or even triple that. I believe the original MSRP was $299.00. The FedEx delivery was excellent. Neither cardboard shipping box had so much as a dent or even a tiny hole. The only thing I'd change about the speakers would be to have gotten them in cherry finish, but it wasn't available. The formal black looks fine too. It matches all of my components perfectly.Read full review

Blessed to have Japanese built Denon 3800 series and dvd player in front of these with a Yamaha 10 inch sub and a NHT center in our bedroom. Blown away! Also blessed for perfect room/acoustic surrounding but even without that the system hsa depth, punch, fab soundstage and imaging.Never thought the 60 II"s could perform like they are. I've owned PSD Synchronys, Infinity 3009's and at least 40 other speakers. The 60's are a huge value, highly recommended.
