Wireless Remote Control Adapter for Akai tape decks
Add wireless remote capability to your Akai tape deck that says on the back that it needs the RC-18, RC-19, RC-20 or RC-70R remotes like the GX-266II, GX-270D/D-SS, GX-520, GX-620, GX-625, GX-630D/DB/D-SS, GX-635D/DB, GX-636DB, GX-650D reel to reel decks and the GXC-570D, GXC-760D, GX-F80 and GX-F90 cassette decks. Not compatible with the GX-255. I can special make a version for the GX-255, but, you need to contact me. GX-630D/DB and some other decks do not support pause.

This is not an original Akai RC-70, but, a compatible unit that performs the same functions.
This unit works just like the original Akai RC-70 wired remote. It plugs into the back of the tape decks and allows the transport functions (play, stop, record, fast forward, rewind, pause* and reverse play* *-pause and reverse play only works on decks with these functions) to be controlled wirelessly from across the room. Comes with a DirecTV universal remote, but, you can use just about any universal remote on the market. Just set it for one of the Sony VCR button codes.

This unit can be programmed, via a set of internal jumpers, to 1 of 4 remote codes (Sony VHS, Sony Beta, Sony 8mm and Sony Laser Disc Player). This allows multiple units to reside in the same room and be independently controlled.
