Exactly what I expected/needed
This seems to be a pretty nice charger for the money. Good spring loaded design to fit both the AAA & AA size batteries. Good indicator lights to see charge progress. And guess what, Yeah, it does get hot! It's a battery charger. That's what they DO! So don't throw it on a pile of old cloths and block the cooling slots when you use it! And probably don't leave it unattended for long periods of time. Seemed to charge up my 10 pack of Ray-o-Vac NiCads just fine. Admittedly, I have only used it a couple of times but IMHO I think it's a good buy for it's large capacity of batteries that can be charged, That it does 9 volts also, And it seems to be built well. I don't know anything about the electronics inside or how well that part will last. This is just the one I choose after doing a bunch of ... This seems to be a pretty nice charger for the money. VERY SLOOOOW
Very slow to charge. My 8 bay MAHA charger finally died after 15+ years of use, but it would recharge my totally drained batteries in 2-3 hours. This one takes at least 4 times longer. Extremely slow is an understatement. If you have the time to wait, and wait some more for your batteries, it's not a bad charger. EBL needs to up the charging rate to at least 500mA, 700mA would even be better. 270mA is way to slow.Very slow to charge. The best charger for your money
This thing charges my AAs, AAAs, and 9Vs with reliability. The led status bar for each AA/AAA slot is so great. This enables me to put in batteries at varying levels of charge and get an immediate idea when each one is done vs a simple red or green light indicating a full charge across the board. I also use my charger for testing my batteries that have been in storage. Im fairly new to using rechargeable batteries, having abandoned one use batteries about two years ago. This charger was my second and final choice in my search for a durable, well designed, consistent, multi battery (AA/AAA/9V) charger. I highly recommend this model. I would have paid up to 40 dollars for this. On an off note, i also recommend the EBL rechargeable batteries. I have used Rayovac, Duracell, and EBL. The EBL ... This thing charges my AAs, AAAs, and 9Vs with reliability. The led status bar for each AA/AAA slot is so great. The charger is light weight but well built. The charging screen is easy to read. It lets you know just where each battery is in it's charging cycle. If some batteries are charging faster than others, you can pull the charged ones and use them while the others keep charging. It's great being able to charge up to ten (10) AA or AAA batteries or a mix of the two at one time. Plus you can charge 9V batteries also. The way the batteries are held in the unit is great. It's very easy to fit either the AA or AAA batteries into the unit. Does it cost a little more than most unit? Yes, but you're getting what you pay for with this unit. I haven't read the directions yet, but by using it for the last 3 weeks, I've mostly intuited it's workings, and have found it to be highly effective, fast in recharge, very useful in identifying bogus.burnt-out batteries which have historically caused me to wonder why devices didn't work, knowing that I had allowed more than ample time for recharge. I also like that it works for a variety of batteries and has dramatically reduced the amout of time necessary for plug-in, compared with previously used rechargers which even after 24-hrs, did not render trhe batteries renewed, and didn't tell me they were discardable. I get much data from this charger and highly efficient operation!
