Oh Apple, How You Frustrate Me…

Posted Saturday September 8th, 2007 · See Comments

So, as you probably are very well aware, Apple has recently updated its ever-popular iPod product line with brand new iterations of the “regular” iPod (now labeled iPod Classic) and Nano, as well as introducing the iPod Touch.

In the lead up to this announcement, I was excited to stipulate that Apple would be releasing a wide-screen, multi-touch version of their iPod, and I was correct in this assumption. However, I’m disappointed to learn that the Touch only sports up to 16GB of storage capacity.

Apple; I wanted an iPod with a big, beautiful screen to watch my movies in gorgeous detail, and you’ve done very well to provide this. But, I need enough damn space to store my relatively modest collection of videos and TV shows.

iPod Touch

16GB is not enough space for a device that is well suited for videos.

Ditch the slimmer, solid-state memory and throw in one of those 160GB disk drives that you seem to be using in the Classic. Then, and only then, I’ll relinquish my $400.

As disappointed as I am with the capacity, I just plunked down the cash for the 16GB touch.

I see what you mean. I really love the touch iPod and it looks amazing. But the storage, I just can’t believe it. I can’t decide between the iPod Touch or the Classic. =/

I’m disappointed as well. It’s just dumb to introduce something like this, but could it actually be smart?

Apple will probably release an iPod Touch with a huge capacity in the next few months to make more money.

I couldn’t agree more. I keep pretty well up to date with the rumors that fly around, and thus was expecting the iPod Touch when the announcement came. I think the Widescreen is wonderful, the touch screen is fantastic, and the built-in wifi has me excited as well, but I just won’t shell out that much cash for something that can’t even fit my whole music collection on it. As beautiful as it is, it doesn’t look like I’ll be replacing my current iPod anytime soon.

hmmm. yeah. It is somewhat disappointing that thye have this amazing new beautiful iPhone-without-the-phone, and yet it has only 16gb of memory. Maybe they’ll revise that sometime after launch.

I’m in the same boat as you guys! I wish they would throw in one of those 160 gig hard drives!
